I’ve been really obsessed with this album lately, I keep listening to it over and over. So I’ve come to the conclusion that it is one of the most perfect whole albums I know. in parts it is very good, but listened all the way through is an experience. my appetite for it is insatiable.
there’s a moment near the beginning of this video where Darren Criss turns to the camera with this LOOK in his eyes and in that moment I’m certain I’ve never wanted to fuck anyone so much in my entire life.
it’s absurd, but there’s just something about it that hits me right in the gut and I am powerless to resist. I’m sure this speaks volumes about my character, but I’m too busy imagining all the naughty things I could be doing to pay attention to the implications.
also,
So, I’ve been an on-again off-again Glee watcher since it started however many years ago, but I’ve never been too committed to it. only recently have I come to realize that the only reason I keep coming back is for the musical numbers. I really couldn’t care less about the character development, but only want the over-the-top, fantasy sequence, modern-magical-realist, perfectly choreographed musical numbers. I find them completely irresistible (this too, volumes). thankfully I can watch them online and skip the rest of the episodes.
In Conclusion, I’ve been hornier lately (I think it comes with the exhaustion) and I’ve decided to listen to more Disco music.
spent 10 minutes this morning cycling figure-8s (in the middle of a back road by the highway, populated by warehouses) while singing this song to myself.
you’re blowin’ my mind maybe in time, baby, I can get you in my ride
hey ladies, when your man wanna get buckwild just go back and hit ‘em up style get your hands on his cash and spent it to the last dime for all the hard times
FACT: Dolly Parton is two amazing singers. If you slow her songs down (as if you were playing an old 45 at 33rpm) she sounds completely different and really terrific.
I’ve always loved Dolly, but somehow this makes me respect her singing and songwriting even more. Freaky.
Very haunting and beautiful. What do you think?
If I could play music, I would cover this “version”. I kind of really love this.
